  1. You can fully customize your site for your business. GlossGenius allows you to pick your own color and style for the interface. Not to mention you can completely design your service menu however you feel is best. You can choose what picture you want the service to display (to better help your clients navigate your menu) You pick the length of each service, and you chose if you want to require a deposit for specific services and how much.

    One of my favorite features is being able to let the client know that some services have a starting price rather than a concrete price because, as professionals we don’t always know how much product or color we need and it’s important for us to be transparent about that with our clients so they understand what to expect also.

  2. The cancellation policy! The app allows you to be the boss of how much notice you need for a cancellation AND how much you will charge if someone violates the policy. You can also enable an extra feature to have them check a box acknowledging your cancellation agreement before finishing booking because they sign knowing they just put a credit card on file, and it will be charged if they don’t abide by your policy.

    Why I love this is because having a policy secures your time as a professional, and the client is aware of the policy the first time. Not letting it happen over and over again. It takes the awkwardness out of the situation for everyone. The app does a great job reminding your client of their appointment as well by sending an email and a text message to confirm their appointment. Saving you time without having to text each individual client before you see them. Even if you chose to not charge them, it will at least be your choice.

  3. The deposits come the next business day, and the credit card fees you pay are pretty low. You can opt in to have the client pay half of the fees also. I personally don’t but each business is unique and GlossGenius recognizes that each professional may need something different. Checking the client out is all done on the app, you don’t have to go through a third party.

    Everything is itemized for the client so the charges are completely transparent so you can avoid feeling obligated to emotionally discount anything. They can even choose to leave you a tip, and have a receipt sent to their email/phone.

  4. The report feature is pretty incredible. I can instantly view who my top 10 highest paying clients are, and the details of what they purchased and how often they come in. You can track your earnings yearly, quarterly, and monthly which makes taxes so much simpler and everything is itemized. 

  5. The analytics feature is great for any business owner. It really helps to plan accordingly when you know your 30 day projected income. I like to know when I need to push myself more to meet my goals. I do this by offering and selling more retail, suggesting add on services, or letting clients know about other services I provide.
